Safety Rules

This is a really good start, but not everything. Your safety is important to us, and we’ll enforce safety rules even when you get mad at us about it. So please just be cool.

  1. Please use common sense. Don’t be a d-bag.
  2. Do not do things you know are unsafe. Seems like a der, but…
  3. Impaired skaters may not participate in on-skates events, and that includes those who are still rocking from the night before. RollerCon medics are the final judge of your safety on skates.
  4. Only RollerCon Skater & MVP Passholders with accepted insurance who have signed a waiver at Registration may skate in RollerCon events.
  5. Don’t skate above or below your skill level; do not put yourself or other people in danger.
  6. Do not wear your skates without wearing your other safety gear in any contact situation, period. This means you must be fully geared up before entering the roller derby track areas, and skateparks.
  7. If you are seen to by the Medics and they refer you for further assessment or treatment, they will take your skating badge. You will no longer be authorized to skate at RollerCon until you bring back a doctor’s note indicating you are safe to return to play. Our Medics are trained, credentialed professionals with YOUR BEST INTEREST in mind and their decision is not up for debate, so please do not hassle them.
  8. Make time to hydrate, rest and refuel. Respect your injuries, strains and exhaustion. RollerCon is a marathon, not a sprint.
